Hello and welcome to the second installment of Crowd Street's Private Market Fund Essentials. I'm Mary Collins White and I lead the Member Relations team here at Crowd Street. Today, Marc Schaevitz, a Director on our team, is going to lead a deep dive into the offering detail page that we've custom designed for our private market fund offerings.
Before I turn it over to Marc, I do have a few compliance notes for you.
Please note that you are in listen-only mode. If you have a question you would like to ask during the Q&A section, please type it into the Q&A button on the bottom of your screen and I will ask it on your behalf. We can't guarantee that we'll be able to get to all the questions received during the live discussion, but we will answer the rest of them via email. So if you have a question that doesn't get answered, please send us an email at ir@crowdstreet.com.
Please also note that this is for informational purposes only and is not intended to be relied upon as advice. Investors are encouraged to review any operating agreements or fund subscription agreements and consult with qualified legal or investment advisors if you need assistance evaluating any of our proposed offerings. Lastly, we are unable to provide any responses that may be construed as tax, legal, or investment advice.
And with all that accomplished, I will pass the baton to Mark.
All right. Thanks very much, Mary. Good afternoon, everybody. My name is Marc Schaevitz, and I'm a Director on our Member Relations team. Before my five-plus years at Crowd Street, I spent several years working at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Management Division and then at a real estate private equity firm called Rialto Capital.
I am a resource for you. So is Mary. And I'm happy to connect with you anytime to help answer any of your questions. Feel free to contact me after this presentation and I'll send you a link to connect. It would be great to learn more about you.
So, the purpose of this webinar today is to walk you through a hypothetical example offering detail page, which has many of the same sections you'll typically see on a fund’s offering detail page on our platform. It is important to keep in mind, however, that this is a hypothetical detail page and it's for illustrative purposes only. It does not represent an actual offering.
We get questions from some of our members asking for clarification on exactly what some of these sections mean. So, we put this together for others who might have the same questions and find some relief in hearing more elaboration through plain-English explanations and simple examples.
Throughout this presentation, I'll stop at different sections and explain them for your benefit. Because we have a wide range of sophistication levels among members browsing our platform, some of these terms and explanations are going to be a lot more straightforward for some of you than others. So I would suggest paying attention to all these sections, even if you think you're already familiar with them.
We're going to leave some time for questions at the end, as Mary mentioned. So if we don't get to yours, just send them via email and we'll answer directly.
All right, getting started here and going from top to bottom.
We see our sample offering detail page. Hopefully this looks somewhat familiar to most of you. If not, that's okay. The first thing I've highlighted here is “Private Markets.” This is just to point out that this is a hypothetical sample offering and it's not available through the public markets. This specific example fund is not traded in the public stock market. This cannot be found in the NASDAQ, the S&P, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, or any other publicly traded pool of equities or debt.
It's not the type of investment where you can just click the sell button on a brokerage platform and have your order filled immediately. You're not going to be able to see intraday movements in its market value like you can with many publicly traded securities.
We hope you all enjoy the holidays and again ir@crowdstreet.com and we'll be happy to help you with any additional questions you have.
Thanks very much.
