Crowd Street members direct their funds to an escrow account, in the case of a direct CRE investment, or to a transfer agent when investing in a fund. Funds held in escrow are released to the sponsor once certain due diligence materials are received. Transfer agents keep the official books and records of a third-party registered fund and work closely with the custodian who holds the funds assets. Crowd Street does not take custody of member assets at any time during the process.
