We sat down with Jordan Angel, Co-Head of JLL Capital Markets Silicon Valley office, to hear what he’s seeing in the commercial real estate capital markets. He also shares his thoughts and experience with both our CrowdStreet members and company in general.

I've gotten to know Ian a little bit. I've done a couple deals with CrowdStreet and various sponsors. Made some introductions to some clients of mine. It's been a good, good experience overall and you guys invited me tonight to come talk about what's going on in capital markets. So I appreciate it. People were asking what's going on. I mean, real estate is in a challenging time right now, so to have you know, interesting questions about what's happening I think shows a really, a smart investor base and you know, people that are actually engaged in what they're doing. So you've seen a much deeper bid pool. So the assets were selling, you know, you look 12 months back, there was people showing up and we were getting them done, but it was, you know, knife fights to kind of get to the, the finish line. Whereas you're looking at the bid pools now, especially in the multi-family space, you're seeing, you know, 20, 30 bids on some of this stuff. Some without financing and really very aggressive capital compressing cap rates and really leaning in to get product in markets they wanna be in. I'm a big fan of what you guys do. I think being able to access real estate capital for very good sponsors to the average investor is really important. 'cause a lot of times when people are investing in real estate deals, they'll do the, you know, the individual they know from the golf club or the swim team or whatever else. And to be able to access sponsors and deals I think is incredibly important. Whether it's your guys vetting or the fact that you only work with very good sponsors, you know, it really opens up that investment base to an investor that might not otherwise have access to that type of deal.
